Iridescent Pearl is the newest color added to our line of the exceptional Kaweco pens. The shimmering color recalls the optical effects of a pearl; the translucent material of the fountain pen shines in colors ranging from green-bluish to pink. The pen has silver-colored lettering, logo cap, and nib, reflecting the pen’s cool look and feel. The packaging of the pen is designed with iridescent foil.
We first read about the superb Kaweco writing instruments in the New York Times, in an interview with playwright Jon Robin Baitz, who said of the pen, “I thought it was a perfect little thing…. I love its precision, its modesty, its clarity and its minimal fuss. This is the cheaper, more practical version of a Mercedes.”
The esteemed Kaweco pens epitomize two essential features of a fine writing instrument: classic good looks and a beautifully smooth “write.” Yet there are many other reasons this model has been consistently lauded since its debut in 1933: almost nine decades later, it remains modern in design and sensibility, and efficient in function.
The pen is made of high-quality plastic has a silver fine-point nib; its only embellishment is a discreet silver “button” on the end of the cap. It’s remarkably lightweight (less than a third of an ounce). The pen is 4" when closed and 5-1/4" when open, thus the Kaweco slogan "Small in the pocket, great in the hand.” It has a screw-on cap.
This pen is made by a German company established in 1883, a venerable name in pen circles.
The pen comes with a blue cartridge and we include a box of six (midnight blue) cartridges. Additional boxes of refills also available for purchase.
