Product Details

Myrrh, a resin derived from the Commiphora tree, has been revered for centuries across cultures for its potent spiritual and medicinal properties.  Spiritually, myrrh is known as a symbol of purification, healing, and connection to the divine.   It is commonly associated with transformation and releasing past wounds, making it an ideal incense for rituals focused on letting go, protection, and inner peace.  The deep, earthy aroma of myrrh grounds the energy, promoting emotional balance, stability, and a sense of being rooted in the present moment.

Myrrh is often used in meditation and prayer as it creates a sacred space, inviting deeper contemplation and spiritual insight.  It is also believed to open and clear the third eye chakra, enhancing spiritual awareness and intuition.

While not as prevalent as other local herbs, myrrh is occasionally used in Filipino traditional medicine.  Known for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, myrrh resin might be utilized in balms or tinctures for wound healing and respiratory ailments.

Some Filipino healers or "hilots" may incorporate myrrh into their practices, blending it with other native herbs and resins to create potent remedies for various health issues.  It may be added to oils or burned to cleanse negative energies or spirits.

Cultural Significance & Ceremonial Use:

In certain regions, myrrh is used in ceremonial practices and rituals that blend indigenous beliefs with Catholic traditions.  These practices often involve invoking spiritual protection and blessing for individuals, families, and communities.
