This gold coin is a replica of a bronze coin minted approximately 2300 years ago (385-288 BCE.) in the city of Ephesus (Modern day Turkey).

The coin depicts the goddess Cybele, known as the Magna Mater (“Great Mother”), who embodied fertility and civic protection. The second side depicts a bee which symbolizes the city’s productivity and wealth.
